Meet Me In Cairo is an IP for either a feature film or a limited drama series, based on the true story of master spy Wolfgang Lotz. A German national, Lotz worked on behalf of the Israeli government as a double-agent living in Egypt in the mid-1960s.
Our proprietary assets include three screenplays (two in English, one in German), two written by Lotz himself in 1987, a 16-minute video interview with Lotz and an extensive audio debriefing, both conducted in 1987. The audio comprises over 6 hours of content (audio files and transcripts available).
An incredible “Mr & Mrs Spy” story, Meet Me in Cairo has it all. A handsome, reckless, high-society spy who breaks all the rules by falling in love with a beautiful young blonde on the Orient Express. Glamorous European locations (Munich, Paris, Geneva), as well as primary locations in 1960s-era Cairo, Jerusalem, and Tel-Aviv. Nazi expatriate scientists helping the Egyptian army with advanced missile technology. All culminating in the Arab-Israeli 6-Day War.
We are currently looking to partner with a blue-chip production company with experience in period dramas, and with bonafide relationships with commissioning executives at global streaming platforms. We have had serious discussions with several major players in recent years and even spent two years negotiating an agreement with a major Israeli studio, but the project was ultimately not optioned, and we are back in the marketplace. At present, our concept will have Lotz tell his own story, in his own voice.
